Hello again - I just rebooted, and the problem persists. This is appalling in a mainstream, critical app. Online suggestions are few and ineffective. Word 2016 suddenly displays files only in Compatibility mode, and there is no Convert button under the File menu to give me access to them. A new Normal file appeared after reloading Word, but the problem persisted.įor the Regedit fix, I used v 16.0 (which seemed appropriate the suggestions only went up to 14.0).įollowing the regedit fix, I just reopened Word as suggested no joy.
